A new client from Las Vegas, Nevada, came to Kingpin Car & Marine Audio looking for a serious marine audio upgrade for his new 2015 Supra SE450 boat. We scheduled a time to get together with the client so we could explore the boat, and understand his goals and aspirations for the build. Once we were done listening to the client, we asked several leading questions to make completely sure we are offering the best solutions for his needs.

While we are on the subject, Kingpin thinks it is important to know a few things about us. Since 2006, we have been specializing in boats. Heck, we even put boats in our name!. We love them, and everything about them. By specializing in them, our volume has allowed us to simplify things for our clients. We have created packages that we feel will best fit the needs of a boat owner. Once we understand a client’s needs, we offer three different choices. It makes the decision-making process easier for our clients, and it ensures we are masters of our craft. It is not uncommon to see more than 10 boats in our facility from late winter to early summer getting some of our marine audio packages.
Wake Package Brings A Concert To The Water With This Supra SE450 Audio Enhancement
In this boat, the client chose our Wake package. It consists of two pairs of our Exile Surf tower speakers mounted on the wakeboard tower and an Exile 30.2 amplifier to power them. The client now has over 850 watts of clean power, so all of his music is delivered with clarity and definition that puts him right in the middle of a concert on the water.
Exile Amplifier Adds Over 1200 Watts Of Power To The Cabin
Inside the cabin, he now has an Exile Javelin five channel amplifier. It supplies 400 watts of power to the cabin speakers so the party inside the boat will sound great, and a fifth channel sends over 800 watts of power to the subwoofer.
Nothing Standard About Our Standard Subwoofer Package
Speaking of subwoofers, the client chose our Standard subwoofer package. It consists of a Hertz ES380.5 15” subwoofer in a custom enclosure that fires into the floor. This unique design “loads” the bass off the floor, resulting in much more output for the client. We make a custom trim panel to protect the enclosure, and we mount it in front of the driver area. All of our subwoofer enclosures are made out of poly and not wood. The reasoning behind this is simple. When wood gets wet, it begins to swell and eventually will fail. No matter how hard you try to seal it, it is going to take on water because it is like a sponge. That doesn’t happen with poly.
Exile Zone Controller Handles Audio Signal Division
For the finishing touch, we installed an Exile ZLD zone controller. It allows the client to easily control his musical sources and the volume level on each area of the boat.
Specialized Marine Audio & Hardware And Supplies Set Us Apart
It is important to note that Kingpin Car & Marine Audio uses completely different hardware and installation materials in a boat from what we use in a car. Many shops use the same products and, to be blunt, they are doomed to fail. Life on the water is hard on installation items, so we use all marine-rated products. From stainless steel hardware to soldering all of our connections to marine upholstery products, everything we use is designed for life on a boat. It may cost us a lot more to purchase these products, but our singular goal is years of trouble-fee enjoyment for our clients.
