A client from Pahrump, NV brought his 2016 Toyota to Kingpin Car and Marine Audio for some Tundra lighting upgrades and to have the windows tinted. We looked at several options for lighting for his truck based on how he was going to use the vehicle. We also reviewed the benefits of different qualities of window film. During the process, we mentioned that the same improvement in quality that better window films offer also apply to paint protection film. The client expressed interest in the paint film as well, so we created a quote for him and booked an appointment.
Premium Lighting Solution
The client wanted high-quality auxiliary lighting for his truck. He had done some research and knew that the benchmark for LED light bars was Rigid Industries. Rigid happens to make a replacement grille insert for 2014 to 2016 Tundras. The new insert provides room for a 20-inch light bar and a pair of D-Series LED lights. We used a 20” E-Series combo light, part number 120322. This bar features two rows of high-intensity LEDs with a total output of 9200 Lumens. The beam pattern is a combination of a spotlight in the middle and flood pattern on the ends for excellent overall coverage. The light output from the 120322 is amber – great when it’s foggy or if the client is driving in the snow.
In the smaller light locations, we mounted a set of D2 Series 50471 spotlights. These lights produce an amazing 1,760 lumens of output and can light up the road for more than a quarter-mile.
3M Premium Window Film
To add some protection to the interior and update the styling of the trunk, the client chose 3M Premium window film. We applied the film to the door and rear windows. 3M film is one of the highest-quality products in the industry. The film resists scratches, never turns purple and never fades.
Paint Protection Film
Keeping a vehicle looking good starts when it’s new. We applied 3M Scotchgard Pro paint protection film to several vulnerable areas of the trunk. As you can see from the photos (which we took long after we worked on the truck), the client spends a lot of time on the freeway and the truck regularly gets splattered with bugs. 3M films protect against chips, scratches, and stains caused by bugs, dust, gravel, and even small stones. The 3M film has self-healing properties that keep your car looking like new.
The client loved the way the truck looked after we finished the upgrades. He was anxious to try out the new lights once the sun had set.
